Tips on selecting and keeping your grapes fresh

Select grapes that are plump, firm to the touch and firmly attached to the stem
1. Remove any spoilt grapes before storing
2. Store grapes in their original packaging until ready to wash and consume
3. Fresh grapes should be refrigerated

The Spanish grape season spans from August to December. Australia and USA are traditional growers of grapes, together the two countries ensure year-round supply. The Australian grape season stretches from November to early May; and USA from May to January.

Red grape varieties include Flame (round, medium-sized berries) and Crimson (cylindrical, medium-sized) – both seedless; and Red Globe (very large, round and seeded berries) and Ralli (pink, medium-large, short to long elliptic seedless berries, with a thick, slightly touch skin and firm crisp flesh. Bunches are medium in size, conical and loose in density).

While most grapes today are seedless — you may sometimes find tiny seed traces that are soft and edible.
